Yoga 101: Finding Your Flow
Since everyone comes to the mat in beautifully unique bodies, we must acknowledge that yoga is not a one size fits all practice. Whether you are brand new to yoga or have been practicing for a while, this is an opportunity to step back and reflect on our alignment in the poses to see if it is truly the best fit for our bodies in this present moment.
This 2 hour, all-levels workshop aims to break down common yoga asana (poses) in order to find ways to make the poses fit for YOU instead of trying to contort yourself to the poses. We will explore the intention behind each pose (strength vs stretch) and how one pose can be done in many ways depending on your intention. Each pose will be slowly and heavily instructed and questions are encouraged! This is a collaborative workshop, so bring your curiosity. We will also explore the use of props like straps and blocks to learn how to scaffold or deepen your practice.
Some poses explored in this workshop include:
Sun Salutation A (downward dog, plank, upward dog, forward fold, half lift)
Warrior I
Humble Warrior
Warrior II
Triangle Pose
Dancer's Pose
1/2 Moon
Sugarcane
Camel Pose
Wild Thing
