Mat Pilates Training with Ellie Herman
Learn the mechanics, technique, and integration of the Pilates Method with one of the world’s foremost Pilates innovators, Master Teacher Ellie Herman. Ellie is committed to teaching students the applications of all the Pilates exercises so that when they graduate, they are confident they can apply their knowledge to all populations.
Ellie believes that Pilates education begins with an understanding of anatomy, kinesiology, posture, and biomechanics. Throughout this immersive and rigorous series of lectures and workshops, you will learn choreography of the Pilates mat and apparatus, how to guide clients through cueing, and common contraindications.
Ellie will go in depth into the fundamentals of Pilates Mat, starting with discussion of neutral pelvis, core activation and the muscles involved, placement of the body in all the planes of movement. Focus will be on developing the trainers eye to see basic misalignment and how to correct. Ellie will go through all the classical Pilates Mat repertoire beginning through super advanced and will add extra exercises invented by Ellie over the past 35 years.
Dates: Saturday, May 6th 11:30 AM-5:30 PM, and Sunday, May 7th 10:30 AM-4:30 PM

Requirements:
12 lecture/demonstration hours of Pilates Mat I and Mat II. 25 hours each of self-practice, and student teaching.
You must attend both sessions to complete the training.
Required Books: Ellie Herman’s Pilates Mat Manual (available at the workshop for $50)
Test Out Fee $150: Schedule a live or Zoom test-out!
Mat Manual & Test Out Fee are NOT included in the cost of the training.
This certification is tailored to current and aspiring movement instructors (yoga, Pilates, fitness, etc) but also open to the public.
About Ellie Herman:
PUBLISHED AUTHORITY ON THE PILATES METHOD, MASTER TEACHER ELLIE HERMAN IS AN INNOVATOR IN THE FIELD OF CONTEMPORARY PILATES AND THE INVENTOR OF THE PILATES SPRINGBOARD.
Ellie has taught Pilates since 1991 and has published ten books, including professional Pilates training manuals that are used in teacher training programs all over the world. Ellie leads her own comprehensive teacher training program annually in her studio in Narberth, Pa. She travels to teach at conferences and private studios worldwide.
Formerly based in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 20 years, and then Brooklyn for another 15, Ellie now resides in Narberth, a suburb in mainline Philadelphia where she owns a Pilates studio.
Our Workshop Cancellation Policy is as follows:
In order to cancel and receive either a credit to your MindBody account or a credit card refund, you will need to cancel more than 72 hour prior to the event. Any cancellations within 72 hours of the event will be considered a late cancel and will result in forfeiture of workshop fee paid. In the event that a workshop is full and waitlisted, if we fill your spot with another paying student, we will credit your Mindbody account for the amount you paid.
Our Teacher Training & Workshop Series Cancellation Policy is as follows:
Teacher Trainings and Workshop Series (spanning multiple days) are non-refundable and non-transferable. If a payment plan pricing option is enabled and selected by a registrant, the studio will contact the registrant to determine dates of payment for the plan, with the final balance of the training/series paid 48 hours prior to the start of the training/series. In the unlikely event that the training or series is cancelled or postponed, we will refund 100% of your payment or offer an alternative placement in the postponed dates. Any cancellation of the training or series will be considered a late cancel and will result in forfeiture of the fee paid, no exceptions will be made.
