All About Crow! An Arm Balance Workshop with Eunmi

Join Eunmi and Lumos Yoga & Barre for the first of two arm balance workshops on the fundamentals of balancing and inversions. In this first workshop, Eunmi will focus on Crow Pose, and variations of Crow Pose.

These workshops will teach you the tools necessary to ensure that you arm balance, invert, practice transitions, and attempt advanced asanas safely and mindfully, so that you are not relying on momentum or force to lift off, but rather your own strength which is cultivated purposefully.

Attendees will warm up with a short but vigorous vinyasa flow designed to lay the foundation for balancing on the hands, firing up your core, stretching and strengthening muscles for Crow Pose. You will then explore a variety of poses, including Crow Pose/Kakasana(w/Hands & Finger tips & Eagle legs & Lotus legs), Crane Pose/Bakasana, Side Crow Pose//Parsva Kakasana, Fallen Angel Pose/Devaduuta Panna Asana, Baby Crow Pose/Bala Kakasana(w/Forearms & Crossed Forearms), Flying Crow Pose/Eka Pada Kakasana, and Funky Flying Crow Pose. Explore how to transition in and out of each variation and pose with fresh perspectives in safe ways by using props (blocks, straps, socks, bolster, mats, and a wall).

  • Capacity will be limited to 10 attendees.

Proof of Covid Vaccine is required to attend Lumos classes and workshops.

These workshops will:

  • Break down the anatomy of each pose. Build the strength, flexibility, openness and stability in your body parts required to balance on your hands or for advanced postures with greater mindfulness and ease. 

  • Safely and effectively prepare you to train towards a peak pose or balance pose

  • Teach you ways to modify or advance the postures to suit your body

  • Demonstrate common misalignments and how to correct them as well as tips and tricks 

  • Offer different approaches for all levels by using props and walls. 

  • Introduce fun and playful yet challenging variations and transitions weaving the poses so you can deepen this posture and express your practice. 

  • Teach how to use breath and bandhas. 

  • Teach strength building drills to enhance your whole physical practice. 

  • Provide a deeper understanding into, and the commonalities shared of, all arm balances, inversions, transitions, and advanced asanas. 

  • Teach you to overcome your fears about balancing

  • Teach you to learn how to accept where you are at physically and mentally. 

Our Workshop Cancellation Policy is as follows:

In order to cancel and receive either a credit to your MindBody account or a credit card refund, you will need to cancel more than 72 hour prior to the event. Any cancellations within 72 hours of the event will be considered a late cancel and will result in forfeiture of workshop fee paid. In the event that a workshop is full and waitlisted, if we fill your spot with another paying student, we will credit your Mindbody account for the amount you paid.

Our Teacher Training & Workshop Series Cancellation Policy is as follows:

Teacher Trainings and Workshop Series (spanning multiple days) are non-refundable and non-transferable. If a payment plan pricing option is enabled and selected by a registrant, the studio will contact the registrant to determine dates of payment for the plan, with the final balance of the training/series paid 48 hours prior to the start of the training/series. In the unlikely event that the training or series is cancelled or postponed, we will refund 100% of your payment or offer an alternative placement in the postponed dates. Any cancellation of the training or series will be considered a late cancel and will result in forfeiture of the fee paid, no exceptions will be made.
