At Lumos, we’ve created an inclusive and welcoming studio community that encourages every student to focus on well-being and support one another.
Whether you're spending an hour at the Barre to strengthen core muscles, deepening your yoga practice in a vinyasa Flow class, firing up your muscles on a Pilates Reformer, dancing it out in the cardio portion of a Yoga Sculpt class, or working up a sweat in a HIIT class - you'll leave feeling empowered, luminous, and supported in your fitness goals.

Our original location, at 2001 Green Street, offers Barre, Vinyasa Yoga, HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), and Yoga Sculpt
Our second location, at 2329 Parrish Street, offers classic Barre, Vinyasa Yoga, and Barre Fusion classes

Our studios are a welcoming space for all levels—beginners to seasoned pros. Lumos instructors are passionate about the classes they lead, and guide and inspire every step of the way. A class at Lumos is a chance to move your body, calm your mind, and connect with others in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Lumos instructors are passionate about the classes they lead, and guide and inspire every step of the way. All of our yoga instructors have completed a minimum of 200 hours training through an accredited Yoga Alliance school. Our Pilates instructors are certified to teach Pilates through programs such as Drexel Pilates, Balanced Body, Ellie Herman Pilates, and Peak Pilates. Barre Instructors have completed a Barre teaching certification, and HIIT Instructors have completed a group fitness or personal training certification through organizations like AAAI/ISMA, NASM, or ACE.
Lumos instructors provide modifications and personalized guidance during classes, and foster motivation and confidence among class participants!

Our three studios are located in the Fairmount & Spring Garden neighborhoods of Philadelphia. We’ve chosen to expand our footprint in this neighborhood to maintain our focus on community, but we welcome people from all areas of Philadelphia! Fairmount and Spring Garden are located about 15 minutes north of Center City, and are accessible by walking, biking, driving, or public transit.

At each studio, we offer 5-8 classes per day, ranging from 45 minutes to 60 minutes each. Group classes are a great way to get in a full-body workout and engage with members of the community! Private training allows individuals to receive one-on-one attention and a workout tailored to their specific goals. Whether you want to improve barre technique, learn stretches to do throughout the workday, improve core strength, or work on strength training during pregnancy; whether your fitness level is beginner or more advanced, our instructors will work with you to achieve your fitness goals.
NEW TO YOGA, BARRE, OR PILATES?
Our instructors have a passion for teaching, keeping things interesting, and making sure classes are accessible for all levels - beginners are welcome!
Barre
While barre has its origins in ballet, no dance experience is needed - a barre class combines low-impact/high repetition movements, alternating between standing at the barre and mat-based exercises.
Our vinyasa yoga classes will have you exploring awareness and mindfulness, building strength, and exploring the potential of moving with your breath. All yoga classes are unheated.
Private instruction allows the instructor to tailor the full session to you. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, new to a particular fitness modality and want to gain confidence before joining group classes, pregnant or postpartum, or you just want to be able to pause and ask questions and get adjustments from the instructor throughout the session - private training has something to offer everyone. We offer private training in: Yoga and Barre, Pilates, Prenatal and Postpartum Fitness and Yoga, and Strength Training with an emphasis on muscular endurance - using high repetition/low-impact light weights and body weight.
